Before you run it — read this once

This installer is code-signed with an Organization Validation (OV) certificate issued to Patrick Mercier (the BrkrOps™ Inc. principal) by Certum. OV certificates need time to build a reputation with Microsoft Defender SmartScreen; until enough installs accumulate, Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" warning when you launch the installer. This is normal for any new OV-signed software, not a sign that the file is unsafe.

Save the installer when your browser prompts. If it flags the file, choose Keep / Keep anyway.
Right-click the .exe → Properties. If you see an "Unblock" checkbox at the bottom, tick it and click OK. (This is the NTFS "Mark of the Web" flag — clearing it tells Windows the file was deliberately accepted.)
Double-click to launch. If SmartScreen appears, click "More info" → "Run anyway".
Approve the UAC prompt — admin rights are required to read certificate stores and register the app.

Previous versions

On the choice of CA: this installer is signed by Certum, a Polish CA operated by Asseco Data Systems out of Gdańsk, under EU law and the eIDAS regulation. That's a deliberate decision — using a non-US certificate authority avoids binding BrkrOps™ Inc. or its customers to the US CLOUD Act surface area, which matters to public-sector and regulated buyers. Compatibility-wise it's a non-event: Certum roots have shipped in every Windows install for over two decades, and SmartScreen reputation accrues to the certificate identity regardless of which CA issued it.
